Mrs. Gimon High School Spanish
Hola! Buenos Días!
I want to introduce myself, my name is Evelyn Josefina Delgado Riut de Gimón, also known as Señora Gimón. I’m very excited to be teaching High School Spanish this year, at PCA. This is my second year at PCA, but my 9th year teaching.
Spanish is my native language, I was born in Caracas Venezuela I was fortunate to have been born in a Military Christian family (it gave us opportunities to travel around the world a lot) my father was in the Army and I was blessed that my mom stayed home with us. My family moved to Carbondale Illinois when I was 3 years old, we returned to Venezuela when my father finished his degree at SIU when I was 9 years old. As a senior in High school I met my husband, also an Army officer, we courted for a year and we got married in 1992 and came back to Carbondale Illinois to study. I graduated Southern Illinois University in 1996 with a degree Liberal Arts and a minor in Dental Technology with a concentration in orthodontics. We have 4 wonderful children, Estefania, Samantha, Zacarias and Isaac they are the true joy the Lord has given me.
I am a dedicated Christian educator and mother. I believe that all students can learn and that success takes many forms. I am proud of the work I have done with the students of PCA and even more proud of the young people my students go on to become. I am excited about the opportunities to expand the horizons of our students and look forward to continuing to offer deep and lasting impacts for our Lord and our community through education. Please feel free to contact me at anytime to discuss the success of your student!
