June 2017

I really enjoyed working with the seventh and eighth graders this past school year.  We worked hard, but we also had some good times while learning more about grammar and literature.  During the second semester we read In Search of Honor, an exciting story about the French Revolution. Written  by Donnalynn Hess, the novel illustrated the truth that vengeance does not satisfy and that our heart, not our circumstances, is what makes us the people we are.  Both themes, which reflect Biblical truth, are good lessons for every individual to learn.

Congratulations to Caleb Nelson and Marina Boshra on your Superior ribbons from the ACSI Southeast Regional Creative Writing festival.  I am looking forward to seeing your poems published in this year’s book.

My prayer for each of my middle school students is that the lessons stay with you – especially the lessons you learned about yourself and your Lord. Have a wonderful summer and I will see you in the fall!

Blessings,

Mrs. Pyles

One more thing:  Remember that summer reading reports and projects are due on Monday, August 28. You will find the directions on PCA’s home page and on the English home page.
